January Gardening Book Club
In January, community gardeners gathered for a potluck and lively discussion of the book Healing Grounds: Climate, Justice, and the Deep Roots of Regenerative Agriculture by Liz Carlisle.
Gardeners learned about various ancestral farming practices from Indigenous, Black, Latinx, and Asian American farmers. We discussed the intersecting issues of colonialism, oppressive polices, and environmental destruction. The night ended with the question “How can we cultivate a culture of care?”.
